    Already answered above, cut it to 2" with a sharp razor blade and re test.

    ok, for anyone who's interested.....reattached probes directly to tap water to test it.....tds readings are 155ppm straight out of the tap....not bad!

    15 ppm tds in a municipal source is much different than 1 from a well. 1 tds ppm in my tank was a devastator. If anyone is interested in a free r/o unit that reads 1 ppm tds, send me a pm. (pay shipping)
