    I'd save your money on the pre-manufactured sumps and just get a used aquarium off craigslist to convert.

    Very simple,for the space under your 55 gal... get a 20-40 gallon tank to shove under there.... then buy some arcykic sheets to cut to size and glue in there. It's very easy and this community will talk you through it...

    The best advise I can give you for the long run is come here before you buy anything big. Seriously, I spent so much money on useless "stuff" and then selling it back is just a pain once you upgrade. Do it right the first time and you will be SO happy. I never thought going reef, big mistake on equipment :)

    Agree completely.... I design my whole system on paper BEFORE I bought anything.... helped me a lot.

    Plus at around 5 months both my tanks decided to have cyano outbreaks (they are 1month apart) so have fun with that one too.
