TEK Elite Fans always on??

I got my new TEK Elite fixture today and it's super nice. However, the instruction manual is pretty weak as the fixture comes with an AC adapter and it had no instructions on what it was and where it is to be plugged in. I ignored it and set up the fixture.

After running my 4 bulbs for about 3hrs with the shield on, I noticed the fans not kicking on & the fixture getting a bit warm. So, the light bulb went off and I realized the AC adapter was for the fans, so I plugged it in and they kicked on.

Well I've shut off all my bulbs but the fans are still going and it's 2hrs now without bulbs they're still going. Did I damage something by having my bulbs on with the shield without the fans? Or are the Elite fans always on?

Your bulbs and fixture will be fine. Just dont make a habit of running the lights without a fan.
