    Someone in my area is selling a tek fixture 48" 4x54 with legs for 250, no bulbs. Does this sound like a acceptable price or slightly steep? Fixture is 7 months old.

    I sold my 8 bulb tek that was 2 yrs old with legs for 200 canadian.

    Get it for $200 and you're not doing badly, provided it's in basically pristine shape. Even that isn't a "good" deal, but it would be a fair price. Just make sure it works.

    That's a pretty high asking price... I think you can get most used equipment in this hobby for ~50% of the retail price. The 48" 4 bulb Tek retails for about $275 without bulbs. I'd wait for a better deal around $150.

    I got a 48 2x54 t5 for 70 with bulbs timers legs etc. so 150-200 is a better ballpark
