I keep my house cold all year, like 66 in the winter and 73-74 in the summer
I just run a heater and keep my tanks stuck on 78 24/7

Well depending on the area the oceans temp can swing quite a bit. When I lived in Monterey California the ocean only swung 2 or 3 degrees through out the year. Here in Virginia the ocean temps can vary by as much as 20 degrees.

Not sure if this helps or if I'm just rambling.

i just dont see the neccesity (SP?) of it, just from the minute information provided i was able to conclude that his tank even during the summer never really reaches a high undesirable temperature, im sure it would be nice, but i know i personally wouldnt want to fork up $500 or more, if not absolutly neccisary (SP?)......but for convience purposes it would be nice to have one.

Thanks for the replies. I got food poisoning and have been stuck at the throne... :-X

    Back now though!

I don't think a chiller is necessary - my top end isn't too high. Heck, my low end isn't too low. It's just the fluctuation.

I got some gift cards for Xmas - I think I'm going to get a new heater.
