This is a good practice for everybody. We like to fill the bottles up with r.o. water in case the bottle leaks.

Yeah, I have done that before too. What I did was I turned off the mh but keeped the actinics on until they where turned off by the timer. I also ran the fan 24/7 to keep the temp down and it did at 79.7 last night. I also, you didnt hear it from me, through in some ice in the sump..............shhhhhhhhh

Shouldn't be a problem if those ice cubes were made with r.o. water but I wouldn't do that too often if they were made with tap water.

I run my tank for almost a month at 84-85 because my A/C broke down also, I suffered every day looking at my hot tank, but at the end nothing died.

Like I mentioned at the top of this string mid 80's 84 95 even 86 will not just wipe a tank out but you have to pump lots of air in to it.. Above 86 ? Bottled oxygen would be better :) But the rise and fall of the temps needs to be slow. I'd rather run mine at 82 F on a daily bases rather then have it spiking from the upper 70's to mid 80's and back in a 24 Hr period.
