temperature of the sun within my tank????? (mayday, mayday)

so i have a scarlet cleaner shrimp and i recently got a pistol shrimp. i was sitting on my couch studying when i kept hearing him clicking. i decided i was gonna find out why and how he did that and i watched this video and now i am pretty concerned. so is this gonna be my scarlets fate if i don't take action.

That's some crazy stuff!!! I dont know if I'd trust him in with my shrimp?!?!
But I'm sure some of the experts more familiar with the pistols will chime in.

 

No expert but my pistol has lived in harmony with all my shrimp for over a year with no problems. That includes fireshrimp (blood shrimp), sexy and peppermint. With a pistol the bark is definitely worse than the bite. ;D

 

I wouldn't worry about it, they largely inhabit different niches. The pistol will stay hidden in caves and burrows, while the cleaner will walk about, and try to generally be in spots where it's available to clean fish - like not hidden away in the deeps somewhere.

The "temperature of the sun" thing isn't going to happen in your tank, either. It only happens in the wild very deep in the ocean, because of the extreme pressure those areas are under. Your tank isn't anywhere near that deep.
