So the 3/4" glass on the bottom of my 75 RR is also tempered? Or is that just a certain brand that does that?

AGA / aqueons are for certain. What brand do you have?

My AGA 90 RR didn't have glass that thick on the bottom. Unless yours has a "tempered" sticker, I kinda doubt it is tempered.
Typically manufacturers use tempering to add strength to a thinner glass (like the bottom). That saves them $$ versus using thicker more $$ glass.

Mine is a AGA 75RR. There was no tempered glass sticker.

How old is it? Does it have the megaflow or the older type corner overflow?

My AGA 90RR with megaflow I used to own was made about 6 years ago.

AGA/ aqueon tanks are made in a suburb of Milwaukee.

Nope, all the AGA tanks I have seen either drilled or non drilled that are 40 breeders or bigger have the tempered glass sticker.

Xmetal's 75 could be one they were experimenting with before they found it too costly to use such a thick bottom piece.

I have referenced this chart several times. The only bad thing is it's only going to be accurate for what they are currently producing. Meaning if you have a tank that is a few years old the specs may have changed.

The tank is about 3 months old. Made about 3 months ago.

All I know is it took 2 people to lift and move it. And even then it was a PITA. Was very heavy.

Interesting. Maybe they were able to make a tank cheaper with thicker non tempered glass? I am a buyer as a profession, so I can understand them switching how they make their tanks. It's all about the materials and costs.
