Hopefully picking up 2 Corallife 150w MH pendants tommorow for a great price. What are my options for mounting? The last think I want to do is mount them into the ceiling. Any advice?

Post a picture of them and then we can offer some suggestions.
the pendants usually hang from the cieling without much difficulty, you could always make a canopy. But that would be more work than hanging them.

This would be pretty unsightly, but you could attach them to a piece of wood, like a 2x4 or larger if necessary. Have the 2x4 the length of the tank and cut pieces to fit for the height. I'm not sure how you would or could attach the vertical pieces but you could probably figure something out. Again, though the easiest thing to do is to just hang it.

If you are able to do a little metal work, you can by square aluminum tubing rather cheap and easily create a nice lighting rack (I have done this on a few tanks) … You will still want to have it within a canopy though unless you really want to put some time into making it look nice.

Depending on the weight of the pendants, you could attach a shelf to the studs in the wall behind the tank. Then hang the pendants from the shelf.

I would buy two wooden shelf brackets like this one:

    2 1/2"W x 14 3/4"D x 14 1/4"H Extra Large Shelf Bracket by ArchitecturalDepot.com

I'd cut a channel on the back side of it and run the cord to each behind it and up over the top. If the bracket isn't long enough, add a finished piece of wood to the top to extend it. The Coralife pendants are not that heavy so you should easily be able to cantilever each off a bracket like the one I linked to. I think it would look pretty sharp too.
