i have a ten gallon and want to do a mini reef/frag tank with it. it is setup and almost through a month of cycling. i dont have any live rock just one piece i got from my DT. i also have no cleanup crew. i dont have (good) lights either. so my question is what type of fish should i put in here? i know it is very small so i just wanted some ideas. it would be nice if the fish are smaller (for a ten gallon fish) so less of a bioload. thanks to all and to all a good night!

I would watch out putting anything in there if you don't have any or a very small amount of live rock. You don't want to run into ammonia and nitrite problems down the road. You could put a cleaner shrimp, 1 or 2 small clowns, 1 golden canary wrasse, 1 royal gamma or 1 jawfish.

I'm a fan of firefish or a watchmen goby/pistol shrimp combo

Not sure if tank is big enough but a sea horse tank sounds really cool to me.

that is what i was originally going with but they require a lot of care and a bigger tank. i can handle the care part but dont have money for another 29 gallon

i think PharmrJohn did a 10g sea horse tank if i'm not mistaken and I am a fan of the yellow clown goby....esp if you end up getting some corals. He seems to like to perch on all the rocks and corals I have in my tank, kinda a neat personality to him

i thought ten gallons where only good for dwarf seahorses. they need baby brine shrimp every day 3 times a day.
