I recently replaced the lights on my ten gallon reef, so I had the old 96watt PC fixture to deal with. Instead of putting it away, I thought what the heck I'll move the two tiny cichlids from my baby cichlid tank (10 gallon) to the bigger 20 gallon cichlid with some other babies and put the light on the empty ten. I now had an empty ten gallon tank, soo........I did what we fish addicts, I mean hobbyist do best. ;D I went to the pet shop! ;D I walked in with a ten dollar bill in my hand planning on having some left over, so this was a large task. The mollies caught my eye with all the different colors, so I got the idea to make this a molly breeding tank to see what colors I could come up with. WELL....I got home with a five dollar bill, three fish, and a very nice plant. The guy at the shop gave me three mollies for ten cents each, the price of a feeder guppy and a nice plant for 4 dollars.

    Well here are the pictures.

Excellent use for an old fixture! Nice looking Mollies.

The plant looks like Bacopa caroliniana.

Thanks! It looks pretty close to it, boy I hope I get those nice white flowers. My plant has a ton of roots shooting off of it everywhere. I will be putting baby tears or something close to it in the "valley" between the two rock formations to fill in the gap. Adding plants here and there when I see ones I really like.

I've had a Bacopa flower under PC lighting. Let it grow up and out of the water, it may flower.

Big news in the tank today.
Population has doubled. 4 new babies!!!
I'm sure their were more, but when I woke up they were already there running for their lives. I save the only ones I could see. I hope a few more are hidden in the rocks. I am not sure of the mother yet, however, the silver one looks a little skinnier.
I didn't do an update, a few days ago, but I got another female. A balloon molly. Funny looking fish.
