Why don't you set up a little pico tank while you are gone? It would be great to have until you get back to your main tank! Then you could move all of the corals to the main tank when you get back, and just use the pico for a frag tank!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
When I went to high school, a private school I took my FW tank. When I went to college I always had one tank or another running. Hope it gets better, maybe just home sick.

Pico would be awesome (I started with a 3 gallon way back), but it's less than 3 months till I am back. I don't want to spend more money on a tank (saving up for my upgrade) and plus I am poor college kid. Freakin Bookstore steals all your money. 700 dollars on books and supplies this quarter. The props of being an Architecture student!

Alright everybody, this build may be ending soon. The tank is in chaos right now. As stated before I had to leave my tank behind, well this where the trouble starts. I spent a good long time writing up directions on how to make everything go smooth, well they were completely ignored. I have post-it notes everywhere with directions and warnings on what not to do. After asking my mother how the tank is, she said everything is fine. I asked the levels and boy everything is way off. My ph is above 9 (so she says) and my salinity is way over 1.030. It actually doesn't ever register it's so high.

I told her just to top it off with FRESHWATER, I will do water changes every other week (I live too far away for every week). I have a trash can full of saltwater for changes with big letters on top do not add to the tank. Well She did. She has been topping off my tank with that water for two weeks straight now.

Sorry I had to vent about it somewhere. I understand it's not her responsibility, but she told me not to bring it cause she could take care of it for a little while. This is all she had to do: Put in a pinch of food and put in freshwater everyday to keep it topped off.

Extremely upset about it, all the time and care for nothing. I guess I can't trust anyone to take care of it, but me. Better believe I am picking the tank up this weekend or what's left of it. I told her how to fix the problem and I doubt it will be fixed.
