    Thanks Steve!
I have a question I am getting new par30 bulbs from boostled and I was wondering if I should lower the zoa colony thats near the surface? I heard that they can live in strong and low light, is this true?

IME - Zoas can withstand a barrage of different conditions in terms of lighting.

Your zoas should be fine. It would not hurt, however, to start the bulbs a little higher and lower them over the course of a few weeks.

Sounds like a good place to start. Just remember - go slow - let it grow.

Adjustments should be something like and 1" or 2" every week until you are at your desired height.

You will find a sweetspot with lamp where you will have the ideal combination of the intensity from proximity and the spread by distance.

This tank is actually maybe a year old, so believe me I went really slow. I just had a pistol shrimp and clown for six months or so. I found my receipt for the light and it was about a year from now.

Ok, I understand that. Sweet Spot.
