    Hey Reefers,
I am writing a paper for my college english class. The base of the assignment is to develop criteria for something then compare your object to it. What do you guys look for when you go into a reef store. I am going to compare my local place to the criteria you guys give me...Thanks in advance.

    1. Clean tanks which are well stocked with healthy livestock
    2. Friendly helpful staff
    3. Descent prices for live stock (not necessarily cheap, but what you'd expect to pay...)

    1. Clean tanks
    2. Variety of livestock and dry goods
    3. Knowledgable staff (friendly is great, but I will settle for knowledge)
    4. Display tanks with healthy fish and corals (my lfs has a clam that is without a doubt the biggest clam I have ever seen)
    5. Books on fish, corals, inverts and responsible reef keeping
    6. Variety of food (frozen, flake pellets)
    7. I personally prefer an LFS that carries only saltwater

if it were me, Id replace the highlighted text with "checking out women".

    1. I guarantee you will have everyones attention!

    2. If your teach is a woman, and you write it in a certain way you'll get an A+!

I look for the usual things:

    1. Healthy looking stock
    2. A good variety of products (livestock and dry)
    3. Staff who are willing to help.
    4. A good shop layout - that may sound weird but I'm much more likely to buy from a place with nicely laid out tanks than some shop where all the marine is crammed into a corner!

Oh, and if this is based on what you like to SEE when you enter a shop, a good reef display tank really attracts me - if it's healthy and well kept then you can assume that the staff know what they're doing.
