so first off, got hit by a bee or something yesterday on my motorcycle, and have a big swollen red spot on my chest. anyways, i wake up this morning a little early and just have this feeling to go check the fish tank... sure enough my flame angel is dead on the bottom being eaten by snails. So i take it out, then test paramaters.

    ph 7.6
    nitrate 0
    nitrite 0
ammonia 2.0! ahh! only had 5gal of RO so mixed in some salt, did 5 gal water change. then realized i used my food pipet to fill the test tubes. re tested with clean water
ammonia .25 (it has always been at this ever since i have had the tank) (faulty test kit?)

i just added 2 1050 koralias last night. other then that nothing new.

SORRY! Forgot to say that one of the power heads fell off 2 days ago, and was aimed right at the sand bed for a while sturring up a lot of sand.

maybe my coral beauty killed the flame, but the coral beauty was swimming funny this morning, and my anthias was hiding on a rock(she is always out swiming around) didn't even come out for food. only my clowns seemed normal.

idk what to do :( im in such a sad mood right now ugh i hate losing fish, i am so worried about the rest of my fish now.

!!!! now coral beauty is laying on sand bed breathing heavy !!!!

what can i do? reading 7volts in tank. checking each piece of equipment now.

Can you get the LFS to hold it for you while you determine what the causes are?

Yea most likely, they have held it for me for the last week already, but maybe i can just purchase it and see if they will hold it for another week.

i mean normally i would just say the coral beauty killed him, but then why would all the other fish be acting weird? this makes me think it is something else. but i don't have a clue what.

I have only had my tank up and running for about a month now after cycling, so I havent really had to deal with anything like that yet (And touch wood I dont have too). So I am sorry if I am not that much of a help.

Maybe your ammonia test kit is acting up? Do you have back up or a different brand you can compare it to? I have heard the API (which I even use) can be abit unreliable.

I would consider doing a larger than normal WC to try and get rid of any ammonia/nitrate that you may have in your tank (if you query your test kit).

Definately put your lion on hold at the LFS store until you are confident the problem is sorted and your fishes behaviour goes back to normal.

The added flow might also have stirred up the sandbed, releasing 'bad stuff' that caused another cycle. You need to have someone else (like the lfs) test the water too.
