I honestly haven't researched enough yet to make a recommendation for you Phorn, but I can tell you that you want one with a high rating that removes the most impurities for the best water quality, especially if you have well water, or hard water with lots of minerals, nitrates, copper and impurities. Some of the more "high-tech" ones include digital displays that monitor the ppm of impurities in your supply water and in the filtered water, which is pretty cool. The higher the stage level -stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, etc...-, the more filtration cartridges.

The storage tank is pressurized (about 30 psi) and will move the water without a pump. The pressure comes from the pressure in your water lines.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't the best ro unit out there. But it is rated at a 90-95 percent rejection rating. Not bad. It should work well for me, as I have a water softener installed before it, so I have zero iron, zero manganese, and no hardness (I'm not pulling these numbers out my butt as the output water has been tested). Before I installed the softener, I had 1.7ppm Manganese, .6ppm Iron, and 21 gpg hardness. Softer water helps to keep the membrane from clogging up, harder water can shorten the life of your membrane (requires you to backflush it more often if you want to get any reasonable life out of it).

So when the tank is full, the unit stops producing?

Ok I couldn't wait. This one looks good. Compact 75 GPD Reefkeeper RODI

Has an auto shut off valve so it will shut off when the tank is full when used with a float valve. Ok, so now I just need a float valve...And the list goes on...
