I'm looking to buy some cal,mg ,dhk test kits and wanted some info on what everyone uses out there before buying them. What brand kits do you use? where do you get them from? What test kits do you have?

I am converting from API to Salifert. Currently, I use Salifert for Ca, Mg, NO3, I and PO4. I use API for ALK, NH4, pH and NO2. Salifert is more accurate IMO.

Yeah I've always heard Salifert was top notch. But now I guess API is good(better?) too?

dkH is the German unit for carbonate hardness, so yes dkH is the measure of alkalinity.
I use Tropic Marin, API is IME just not accurate enough

i say salifert because like drfrag said API is not accurate. I have stopped buying API because alot of the tests are just useless because of inaccuracy. I have started buying mine on ebay because price is alot better. If your lfs does not overprice everything then you could go there. I just bought a new Salifert Mg test about 2weeks ago on ebay for $24 including shipping, this same test cost about $40 at my lfs.
