what is good numbers for alk, mag, cal.
what are ways to ajust them.
i cant get alk test to read properly
my mag was at 1440-1400
calcium 400-410

i am using a red sea test kit and cant get the alk to read any thoughts on what could be wrong.

 

I would google "Red Sea Alkalinity Test" there is tons of stuff and even a youtube.

 

I've tried it like 5 times now I think it is super low

 

Would that explain some coral browning

 

Which corals specifically and under what lighting?
Low Alk will cause significant problems corals. Change of coloration to brown is not one I am familiar with.

Usually brown IME has been caused by too many nutrients with higher values of Phosphate and nitrates, and or lighting.
