All tanks can use clean up crews - you just get a crew that is the proper size for your tank.

There is no such thing. I would email reefcleaners for what they think.

    Maybe you misunderstood someone?

your 30 gallons tank is no way to small for certain Cleaning crew members, snails, hermit crabs etc that keep the place tidy

If I where you, I would check out ReefCleaners , one of the sponsors of this site, as they do custom crews ( they help you put together a list of snails, crabs etc suitable for your set up)

Im a big fan of Astra tecta snails - they dont grow as big as Turbos IME and they dont seem to fall off the rockwork and go belly up as often ( better scramblers than Turbos IME)

waiting a couple of weeks is a good idea IMO

You used live rock as if I recall correctly?
have you got anything in there to maintain the cycle, ( many including myself on latest set up throw a piece of shrimp or prawn in the tank to rot away, and thus help the bacteria species to increase in numbers

IF you have live rock, than you don't need to put shrimp in. Did you check your water yet?
