    I currently test for Ammonia,Ph,Nitrites,Nitrates and Calcium levels. Heading to LFS in a while...what other tests should I get for my mixed reef? Mg, Phosphates etc? Thx!

    I test for Carbonate hardness, and Phosphates

    you should be checking alk and mag. i wouldn't waste money on phosphate test kit just go ahead and assume that you have them and run a gfo reactor.

    I second that....Im actually picking up a TLF Reactor today for just that reason.

    that makes littler sense to me. how would you know when to change the media in the reactor? assuming it needs to be replaced and changing it when it doesnt yet need to be will be more costly!

    Thats a test that you dont really need to pay for....take it lfs and have them test...you would test the water that is coming directly out of the reactor. PETCO does this test free.....about the only anyone should get from there..FREE STUFF!

    the reactor media changes color when it s exhausted, soak it in clorox solution to regenerate it or recharge it.
