texas holey rock

    just wondering if anyone has ever used texas holey rock in a reef tank?

    i think the issue with it is that its not really pourous anough to be benefical in holding the bacteria nessary in de-nitrification.

    peredhill uses it. likes it. i have always used live rock/base rock looks better imo.

    i have about 50# of live rock in my tank now. i am wanting to get some more rock though and a guy i know offered to give me some texas holey rock.

    thanks jms.....just looked up peredhil's tank thread and was able to get a visual of it in a saltwater tank! appreciate it!!
