Thanks, I am super pleased with the color and the response from the corals.

All of my frags are a product of there being a cheap LFS nearby and my addictive personality haha. I have tried to hold back but I can't!!! You know what they say though, it is the quality not the quantity!

Thanks John! Well I made it this far so I think I am in the clear! I need to get a shock collar that goes off when I get within 100 feet of the LFS.

Here are the pics of the new additions...they are pretty crappy unfortunately, I realized after that I had the ISO way to high so they are pretty grainy.

Green shroom right after adding it, the shrimp was very curious with the new addition.

Here is a pic after an hour or so in the tank, it is slowly inflating. I am hoping that by tomorrow it will be fully extended. I just love the color on it.

And this will be its resting place I think:

Here are some pics of the blasto, they are really crappy quality unfortunately.

Alright so I am back to my T5's...I was adding new optics to the LEDS and a wire came undone on the blues. In my attempts to troubleshoot I created a short and blew 7 of the blue LEDS :-[

So anyways I decided to use 13 of the whites to make a light for my freshwater shrimp tank and use the remaining blues and whites to retrofit to my T5 fixture.

I was contemplating doing this a while back but then decided to get a full kit instead.

This is what I was planning to do:

I have a thread that I started awhile back and I wanted to revive it but I can't seem to find it ... so I will post here for some assistance on this DIY adventure.

Now I am thinking of using a square aluminum tube as the heatsink and having it anchored to struts that will be attached to the side of the fixture...I would love for it to be able to swivel so that I can adjust the angle of the entire LED strip. I will get a pic soon so that you guys can see what I am talking about.

    EDIT:

Here is a quick pic I put together of what I am thinking of

I don't know about placement yet, not sure where it will end up...but for now it gets center stage :)

    Thanks dude!

So i have been researching a bit on the brackish nature of mollies and how they can be acclimated for freshwater or saltwater so I wanted to see it in action.

I got a petsmart black mollie and drip acclimated using saltwater from my tank. After two hours I just scooped him up and plopped him in. He is doing great.

I am hoping that he will take care of some green hair algae that has crept up on me.

Here are some pics of the algae:

If he munches on the algae I will officially enlist him in my algae fighting reserve. I will acclimate him back to freshwater and if the dreaded algae ever comes back he will get a draft notice and be shipped back to saltwaternia for battle.
