I came home from work tonight and found one of my clowns on the ground covered in dog hair... real bummer. The other guy didn't eat his dinner tonight and he is swimming all over the tank looking a little lost...maybe I am projecting a little but he seems kinda depressed.

I think I am going to have to get a top for this tank because I don't want this to happen again.

On a positive note, the corals are bouncing back nicely. The sps I added is already showing good growth. I was fiddling with the remora a bit and the pump had come loose, so I tightened it and the flow increased dramatically. I am now getting some serious skimmate.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I would hate it if one of my fish jumped. It is good that you were able to increase the flow to your skimmer!

Yeah it was a real bummer. My wife felt so bad that she went out and got me a replacement. He seems to be getting along with the other one.

The status of the tank is ok at the moment. I am not overly thrilled with the state of some of my zoas and palys. I am also still dealing with a lingering algae problem. I think the tank is still stabilizing from the upgrade so I am doing anything drastic, just doing water changes and manually removing what I can. It seems to be getting better though.

The sps are growing really well though. The branching monti/or birdsnest (still not sure what it is) is showing new growth and it is looking healthy. The encrusting monti is also doing really great. The Calcium went from 480 ppm to 440 ppm over the last week, I just did a 2 gallon water change and the Ca is back up to 480.

Here is an FTS and a bunch of pics of corals:

So that is the state of my tank at the moment. I am going to add an ATO in the near future I think. I am getting tired of manually adding the top of water.

Glad to hear that you got another clown and that it is doing alright! Looks like some of the frags are taking off as well.

    Corals look good.

If the 5th picture is the one you are unsure about it looks like a Monti digi to me.

It looks like you have flatworms (the red things) from most of your pics.

    Like the two island scape.

thanks, yeah I bought it as a monti digi but then the seed of doubt was planted when someone mentioned that it looked more like a birdsnest. i will just assume it is a digi.

I am starting to get growth from a lot of the zoos, a few of the palys are looking a little ragged though.

The flatworms have been with me for awhile, they actually came over from the 10 gallon tank. I am a little nervous treating the tank with flatworm exit so I have just been siphoning them out with airline tubing during my water changes.

Is there anything that will eat them?

the six line wrasse will eat them, but I am hesitant to add another fish with the clowns, especially one that has a bit of a feisty reputation.

That is good point. I guess your bio load would be on getting towards the high side with the two clowns. I was hoping that there might be some type of crab or shrimp that could help you out.

yeah I crab or shrimp would be ideal. They would get fat pretty quickly haha. I looked into it when I first noticed that I had flatworms and if I recall the wrasse was all I could come up with for control.

I think I will jsut have to bite the bullet and treat the tank with flatworm exit.
