Here is a side shot of the tank, showing the rockscape.

I am getting some diatoms and some sort of green turf algae, you can see it in the front to the left. So I think I will place an order to John at reefcleaners soon. Pretty pumped :)

Thanks for the side shot, that is one pro scape! Great job leaving the space in the back, and I love the supplement lights from the back!!

    Thanks :)

Yeah it took awhile to get the rocks to fit right, and it took an entire stick of putty epoxy to keep it together but I am pleased with the result and confident in the stability. One of my main goals was to get the height but also maintain an open space at the back for the water flow. I should be able to get a scraper back there as well to keep the glass clean.

I really like the LED-T5 combo, the T5's tend to dull the shimmering effect enough to make it a little less frenetic. I really wish I had a PAR meter though, I am curious what my values are with the Odyssea brand T5's and the chinese LED's... this tank is alot deeper than the 20L I previously had so the light at the bottom may not be very strong.

I am going to stay away from sps in this tank though so it shouldn't really be that big of a deal, plus I have a lot of vertical range to play with to get the corals in their happy place.

That is an awesome set up. Public aquarium worthy.

    thanks :)

I am getting restless with the waiting...I am going to place an order next week for some snails and macros. Until then, all I can do is watch my algae and diatoms spread.

You can see how much the diatoms spread since yesterday!

So I am thinking of trying out some mangroves in the fuge along with Chaeto when I make my order from reefcleaners.

    Until then, I wait...

Where's the cyano? I just see the diatoms and green algae.

    edit #1:

oh yeah, it does look like some little pinkish spots in between the green algae...I am not sure if that is an artifact of the white balance or if that is real. I will have to take another look.

    edit #2:

I just checked the tank, that is just some sparser diatoms intermixed with the green algae and it is looking pinkish in the photo.

    Thanks!

Just a standard CUC from reefcleaners, the 25 gallon package.

    24 Dwarf Ceriths
    8 Nassarius
    9 Florida Ceriths
    6 Large Nerites

Once those are in the tank, I will wait a bit and then add some hermit crabs (probably ~3), a cleaner shrimp and a peppermint shrimp.
