i like the look of the koralias but I really don't want to have too much flow. The last thing I want is to pin my fish against the glass haha

I think a Koralia 240 would be perfect for your tank. While they are powerful, it is not a direct flow, so it doesn't feel like as much flow. I say it is enough, but not too much.

I have 3 of the 425s in my 29g, but that's for a higher flow rate.

I have one of the koralia 240's in my 5 gallon. the flow is gentle and would be fine for a 10 gallon.

Things are going well, I added a koralia nano 425 yesterday, and it is awesome. I am really liking the added water movement, the clowns seem to be digging it too. I have been trying to point it away from the zoas though.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I have not had much growth over the last few weeks, don't know if I should be concerned or not...I may just be too used to planted tanks where I do a trim every week. I have been thinking of adding a DIY strip of royal blue crees to increase the PAR, and make the corals pop a bit more.

If I add ~4 Royal blues to my existing t5 set-up will I get any shimmering, or do the T5's wash that out?

I will take some pics tomorrow, as the lights are out right now.

T5 will most likely wash out the shimmer.

I think you have enough PAR. Corals are slow growers specially compared to FW plants.

bummer, I really want the shimmer, haha.

I think I want some added blue though anyways during my daytime photoperiod. Would the added crees end up bleaching my shrooms etc?

What would be a viable alternative to add blue?

The added Crees definitely could. How about switching out one of the white T5 for a blue?

How much can you control the bulbs on the fixture. If you can turn off the actinics I would do that and add in the Crees. Actinics don't add much blue so it would be a good trade.

It runs off of two ballasts so I could run it with just the 10000K. Yeah I am a little disappointed with the colors of the actinic bulbs, the bulbs look really blue but it doesn't seem to translate into the water column.

I may order a DIY kit from rapidLED...
