That moment when you put new fish in your tank and you want them to eat like lil piggies right away. But they don't for a day or two. I have a flame angel and coral beauty, in my 75.gal. They get along fine, they are not friends, just ignore each other. I have a lot of rock I made, tons and tons of hiding places. They pick at the rocks all day and the flame does eat some of the food I put in the tank. The coral beauty does not, it's interested tho. So what are they eating off the rocks? There are sponge in the tank. They both swim around the tank and seem happy. Just a waiting game I guess. I feed the tank limpets reef frozen food, cyclop-eeze flake and new life spectrum. The angels don't really eat tho...and the coral beauty hides when I'm at the tank. Any thoughts??

Just give em time. I got a Bristletooth Tomini Tang, that hid for 3-4 days so well that I counted him as a goner. Then the next day I saw him with the lights out and he saw me and like a cartoon he zipped away. He was just really shy.

All fish are different. Limpet's food is great food, I would maybe wait a day or two and then feed and see if they are more interested.

Had a permanently shy Gourami when I had my freshwater. Spent the majority of his life pressed under the filter and would only come out for a split second to grab some air, nothing more. The weird part? He actually loved being near-to stuck under that thing for 99% of the day.

Right now I just have a Filefish, Cinnamon Clown and a 6 lined wrasse. I just picked up some IO Cyclo for the first time and they all ate it up at once. I only dispensed enough "droobles" to feed each fish about 3 times. No waste, and my Yuma, RBTA and various polyps opened up, so I target fed them a little. I like working with this "gel" as opposed to frozen, but I am a purist and wonder if the frozen is cleaner or better? I still have about 2/3 of the packet left and am wondering if it'll keep in the fridge for a day? Still have the other 19 packets. You get a LOT more with frozen also, but it is less controllable. Thoughts?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I know I have a tendency to over feed my fish and corals. When it comes to feeding I would rather do smaller more frequent feedings than less larger ones. A system depending on it's nutrient export methods needs to adjust or utilize the available DOC before you add more. Basically just don't bombard, less is more, go slow and dial it in.

Limpits Reef Buffett! I happen to know 'Limpit' myself.
And NLS pellets- the sinking- I use 1 and 3mm.

    That's all my fish/corals ever see/get.

    Where are you? (the OP)
