They are popping up everywhere again. I'm prepared. I have 42 gallons of pre-mixed, aerated saltwater for emergency waterchanges. I have my battery-powered air pumps, I have a bottle of Prime.

There's a lot of touchdowns. However, so far, they are usually going right back up. The hail is very intense. There's a couple of places that have had tennis ball sized hail. Luckily, most of the hail is golf-ball sized.

Thanks Ricardo. One of the biggest differences between the latest St. Louis tornado and what just happened to Joplin, MO is that many St. Louisans have basements whereas few people in Joplin do. If I need to, I can be in the basement VERY quickly.

We had to run & seek shelter today as well. The sirens went off & the call was made a tornado was observed in 5 miles. After getting back into town after the new years tornado, this was not cool since buildings were taken out maybe 2-3 miles from the house that time.

Weather was a crazy here in North Texas. Winds picked up and funnel clouds were spotted. Seriously thought it was the end of the world, or at least Irving, there has never been a tornado ever in according to the history books found at the library. We got some walnut sized hail, good thing my car didn't get dented up.

I may be deaf to the tornado sirens as well. Everyone has been talking about the sirens going off and what not, but I really didn't hear anything at all. I didn't know we had sirens in the city to begin with.

Wow, I've only ever seen 1 tornado in my life. Those things are just awesome (by that I mean powerful, humungous destructive, not cool) I turned around to see the touchdown and just sort of froze. Big shout out to all of you in the great plains, especially OK area, be safe and hopefully no one is hurt!

I know there was a couple of members of the loca Springfield, MO SW Club that lost everything this week from the tornado that hit Joplin, MO.

On guy posted a picture that was his kitchen. I was a table, a ceiling fan laying on it and a view of the neghbors house. No there was no wall in the way.

You can see pictures and everything but until you've seen the damage first hand and in person though it is absolutely mind numbing.

I was reading too that they found x-ray films from the joplin hospital had been blown all the way to springfield proper. Thats about a 30-45 miles if I remember right.

Here in Georgia, there was a tornado in the city of Americus ( where my university is).

The tornado pretty much wiped out the entire hospital to shreds. I volunteared there for a few months and we were working on trailers they were using as ER...
Ironic that the Hospital where you go get healed was the one that was mainly hurt. The school had some minor damages to its dormitories.
Luckily that was last year so i wasnt there at the time.

and yes, the hospital ( after a year later) has not been rebuilt to its entirety...:-/
