I just watched my Diamond Watchman Goby sneak up behind my emerald crab and grab it on the shoulder and drag it across the tank almost into his under-rock lair where he sleeps.

Very wild, i grabbed the net to chase him away but by then the crab escaped.

    Any similar experiences?

i had a lawnmower blenny pick up hermit crabs and shoot them across the tank just for the fun of it. It was the funniest thing I ever saw.

I have seen gobies do this. They are trying to decorate with shells. They don't care if there's a live animal in them.

Our pink spot goby does this randomly. But not just around his home, he will just grab one randomly carry it half way across tank am spit it out. Very funny when the hermit crab is in the shell

Tonight hes gone absolutely mad. He is building a giant mountain of sand over my biggest coral. picking it up from all over the tank and spitting it around the one rock. stacking sand and shells higher and higher

Do i stop him and flatten out his creation?

It appears hes making a fortified bunker, on a major scale this time

Wow I'm glad mine hasn't done this lol. If you destroy it he will just do it again. Maybe let him get settled and he will leave it be??
