I wish I would have heard that right before the orange spotted blenny I bought 12 hours before decided to get airborne and land on the floor for the day. now I know these things jump but I have and egg crate top on my 120.. The little jerk found his way out where the crate meets the overflow box..

Anyway.. Should I get another one or is this a common occurance. The other thing I noticed (in the hour I got to see him in the tank) he was kicking up all kinds of dust. Does this settle down once they are in there for a while?

I dont know about the jumping, but my eyelash blenny constantly is playing in the sand. I have had him for at least a month, so I dont know if its something that would stop.

My diamond goby sifts sand all day. Some days he is messier than others and he was the third fish I put in my tank. It has been running 5 months now!

My lawnmower blenny likes the sand as well. I think blennies just like to play in the sandbox.

put a netting material over your egg crate......people do not believe that fish can jump out of there through that little opening but I learned the hard way when my bluespot jaw jumped the very first night I had him. Everybody kept telling me that he could not jump out of the eggcrate...but he did. I have heard many others since say that same thing

My gobies also love playing in sand....
