    Trying to make a decision on painting the back of the tank black. Since we have the rocks setup as two islands, the back glass is very visible

    FWIW, I think a blue background is cool.....I would probably paint it....thanks for sharing the shots of the fish. Love your sailfin! beautiful coloration. Amazing job on the resurrection!

    Thanks! Yeah I painted the back of my smaller reef and it worked out good. I'm thinking it will make the tank look quite a bit better

    Dodger, just go to pretty much ANY aquarium store and you can fine a background thats blue on one side and black on the other. Tape it in place it works great.

    The benefits are you can change it, and remove it to scrape with a flipper without taking paint off.

    That's what I did.
    You can even find the background at "that store" if it comes down to it.
    Looks excellent!

    I thought about that also. As long as it is pressed firmly against the glass so you don't see any imperfections

    Just seeing this thread now; awesome deal and awesome job getting the tank up and running so fast! I love the scape as mentioned too. Congrats on the new setup!

    thanks man! this thing has pretty much taken over my life for the last week!
    my wife and daughter absolutely love the new tank!

    I find myself lying awake at night thinking of what else we can do to this thing!
