It's been two weeks since we moved and set this thing back up. I've been testing the water every two days and the nitrate levels are on the rise. Water change time! The total system volume is around 200g. I'm thinking of doing a 25 gallon water change. Thoughts?

That would totally bring 40ppm to 36ppm.

That's going to be awesome. Great project. I see furnace ducts on either side of the tank, is that running under the tank? I hope the duct system goes underneath the wall and not under your tank along that wall.

it goes under the wall. there are joists directly under the tank. I got under the house to check this and blocked up under the supporting joists for added support

    yeah. not nearly enough!

what would be the suggestion, keep doing large water changes and going through mega bucks in salt, or possibly start a vodka dosing plan?

Have had the system in my home and running since may. I haven't added anything else to it yet. I have done several large water changes and cleaned cleaned cleaned. The nitrates are down to a manageable level! Everything is looking great!
