    I'm trying to figure out what return pump I should perchase for this tank.

    Specs:

    40G display

    40G sump (3 chambers skimmer/fuge/return)

    1" Overflow lines / 3/4" return line (Beananimal Overflow)

    Overflow box rated for 1800GPH

    3' head loss

    Input anyone?

    Goal is to have low wattage and ZERO noise.

    Around what gph are you looking for. I mean I have a 1300gph pump on my 125g don't know if you want to go that much.
    I run the little giant 4mdqx-sc and its not silent but I have read that greg@lionfishlair ran a 3mdqxsc and it was quiet. (From what i remember, no personal experience though.) It has 1000gph at 3'.
    The only reason I suggest it is because I love my little giant.
    It is also a inline so I don't know if that changes anything.

    A danner mag7 will give you 500gph at 3'.
    No personal experience and hopefully someone else will chime in. Just trying to help out.
    Heard some good things about them.
