Looking great John! That GSP sure is covering that back wall, it will be nice if it takes up the entire back wall.

    Electric bill?

Here's a question for all you 90ers... how much is your tank's monthly electric bill?

I just looked to compare this years to last, and it's looking to be about $50-60ish.

I couldnt answer that. I have been in the house for only 7 months, and have had the tank almost 5 months. The seasons are so different I can't really compare to last year or anything. My girlfriend will never know the difference....hahahha

I was at about $35.00 before the tank and now it has just about settled at $80.00 for my regular uses.

It really depends on the lighting and pumps that you are running and whether or not you have a chiller. These variables can drastically change the prices. It also really depends on the price that you pay for power and your climate. In CO I have generously calculated about $50-60 a month as an estimate.

Mine? Yours looks amazing!! Thank you though.. Yeah, a lot of thought did go into it, still going to make some changes though. I'm going to add a 5gal as an initial tank for my drain, then go into my refuge at a slower pace. That way I can get rid of the cover on my refuge.. I'm getting too much of a fizz.

Thanks Scott, Yeah that's the idea.. I keep on beating it up when it decides to start growing onto my overflow like it's doing now...

That's going to be a tough one... Every region is different & so is everyone's configuration (pump, lighting, bulbs, heaters, chillers, fans, powerheads, etc..) I couldn't even tell you, I started my system almost 7 months moving into a new house..

    New pump!

The maxi-jet 1800 arrived today and I had it installed in about 10 minutes. My tank is super quiet now, save for a trickle of water sound at night and the cooling fans on the light fixture during the day. Micro bubbles are a non-issue.

We'll see how it performs over the next few weeks/months.

I understand, but it might be a good starting point for those looking at starting 90s, and knowing what it will cost.

For example, I'm running a 6x48" T5 fixture for 11 hours a day, a 120watt return pump, and 350 watts of heaters. No chiller.

In CA that runs about 50-60 per month.

Thanks for the kind words. I have the same problem in my fuge. Tons of micro bubbles if I don't run a sock. Been thinking of doing the same and maybe adding a tank where I keep my top off water and calcium reactor.
