    Thanks

This tank is just a few weeks old, but the contents of the tank are about a year old now. This is a transfer from a 105g that cracked on me.

That makes sense! Only the tank looked new, so..
    No loss during the transfer?

so far so good, I was home when it happened so I was able to act quickly. It ended up being equal to a large water change and cleaning , no biggie.

i was scared and lucky all at once, lol. Happened around 12:15 on a saturday afternoon - bottom of the tank spit. if it had been a weekday chances are I would have been out of town on work and would have lost it all.

I did find out that I can still move pretty fast when I need to, so that was refreshing.

Did you ever figure out what caused the crack to begin with? How old was the 105G?

it split between two bulkheads and out to the center of the tank. the only thing we could think of was maybe the plumbing was putting stress on one of the bulkheads and it finally coulnt hold anymore. Tank wasnt very old and I got a warranty replacement - I chose this tank because I liked the shorter height. Foot print is the same but the new tank is 4" shorter , easier to reach in to work.

I see.. good thing you were there when happened and had some warranty! Mine is regular glass 90G off Craigs list, 3/8" thick. Hopefully never have to go through what you have been through..
Is your return really quiet? and how many outlet do you have? do you think its enough flow?

I have a slight waterfall sound in the overflow box but I really havent spent any time tuning it yet to make it quiet. I am running a 1" durso with 2 3/4" returns and I think it may be a little more flow than needed through the sump. According to a head loss calculator I used , I am getting about 455gph through the sump. I do have a ball valve that I can regulate the flow , but havent gotten there yet.
