the maxijet 1200 i believe dialed back. it is kinda of loud, unless it will quite down after it breaks in? i would have went with some more quite.

 

Thanks for the tip! I have the calibrate liquid so I'll calibrate with it before the first use and later to get the accurate reading.

Yeah, my MJ900 made kind of humming sound, so I wrapped with the sound/vibration absorbing sleeping mat.

Hey all. Lots of changes going on with my tank, and so I probably wont post any FTS until after changes are complete.

Currently I am:

-Replacing the stock AquaticLife bulbs with ATIs. 1 bulb every 3 days, will take a while, but I already notice SUCH a difference from yellowish hue to crisp white/blue!

-Removing fuge with DSB (only thing that was remaining since starting vodka dosing).

-Just added today a small (heavily modified!) TLF150 reactor with 250 ml of BRS biopellets. Will be scaling back vodka and possibly adding more pellets when the current dose starts to kick in.

-Added a bunch of corals.

I will definitely post some pics of the TLF150 mod for biopellets, it works 1000 times better than before! I will also add some FTS of before/after the bulb change out. Such a visual difference!

The Maxi-Jet 1200 will buzz a little it it's too far dialed back. I increased flow a little so the buzzing was less harsh, and it went away after about an hour.

 

6 blub fixture? what bulb combo did you go with? would love to see the before/after pics.


On the DSB. i have like 3-4in in my sump/fuge, was wondering if would see any benefits or should i remove it? Why did you remove yours?

Unfortunately, I didnt take pics during the build, and I dont really want to tear the reactor apart now that the pellets are running. But I will grab a decent pic and maybe video of it, it's night and day to what it does as a stock unit.

Tried to take pics of the light bulbs, but the color did not come out. The old 10k bulbs literally look yellow next to the ATI 12k Aquablue specials. It's amazing the difference. Stock bulbs suck!

FYI - the reactor has between 350-400 ml of BRS biopellets in it.
