The Acclimation one bad!

Ha-- I'll get pics out soon. I do have to update my tank thread anyway! I felt like such a smack when I heard the bucket crash in to the RO storage tank. oh well, could be worse!

 

hehe yeah it could be worse! I don't have anything bad like this but I do have a similar situation with the whole acclimating thing. I was doing my thing with the 2 tablespoon out and then 2 in. The bag with the fish was clipped to the rim of my tank. I went to the other room to grab some paper towels and I come back to see the bag sucked up against one of my koralias and the fish out swimming around. 5 minutes into the acclimation. I don't even think the temp was ok!! But the fish is doing quite alright now and is still around (this was actually a few years ago).

Years ago My dad let me 'release' a fish. My first release it was a tad exciting until i tried to coax the fish out of the bag and into the water. I ended up lifting the bag up out of the tank with the fish stuck in the bag still. Its ok though, the Sargent Major lived for years until he became a massive bully and was returned to our old LFS which apparently he died in a week later. --> from being bullied if i remember. Karma works in mysterious ways.

 

Well look at it this way, you just added to its very inspirational life story ;D And look at it this way, a lot of people do freshwater dips for saltwater fish with ich ext. for 5 minutes so thats not what would kill it, more something like the fish flying in the air or the change in temperature What a trooper though!

 

I dripped a flame angle for an hour with no problems. Drained half the water off a couple of times. I went to get the fish out of the bucket and it jumped, landed on the floor and flopped under the entertainment center. I managed to get it picked up and dropped it and the dust into the tank. It only lasted aboug 10 days after that. As he was a fallen angel I ended up naming him lucifer.

 

I set up a refugium for my 55-fowlr tank. The refugium was above my tank. I had a pump in the main tank that pumps water to my refugium thin drains down back to the tank. It was working fine for 2 weeks, thin one morning I woke up and my tank was empty. The hose that fed the refugium had come lose. So 50 gallons of saltwater was on the floor, and in the walls. Now it a freshwater (I still have my 10 nano.)

 

last year when I was acclimating my cleaner shrimp,I placed him in a little styrofoam box with his bag water. started the slow drip and left the room(as I have done before),came back approx an hr later and HOLY C@#P!!! no water in box,it leaked ,must have had a small hole. he was out of water prob for most of the time.I did not know what to do so I picked him up and just threw him into the tank....and hes still with me today...

 

Wow well at least you know that if he was a carier of ich... Well he is not anymore lol
