I'm sure that a lot of you know about this site already but I just wanted to share this photo algae ID site: trial page, algae ID

I have no clue how accurate it is or anything like that, but it helped me out tremendously. I browsed through the pics till I saw the one I had. Pretty simple, by far my quickest ID. Any other good ones out there that have pics and a comprehensive database? If there are some other REALLY good ones out there I will add it to this post and maybe we can make a sticky out of it.

This site was about 50X quicker, and it was accurate for me. No waiting for a reply. Maybe 3reef needs to start a pic ID database unless I am missing it somewhere?

wetwebmedia is a great place to find an archive of information, but I would check for closer ids. You can do better than the genus like they have, and some of theirs were off (First picture is Halymenia not red grac....). What do you have? Some cool rare algae? Let see! :)

Our "stickies" at the top of the "ID This" forum are waaaaay more accurate than that link

That was the first time I found that link and it provided a 100% accurate match to what I was looking for right away. Like I mentioned in my first post when I started the thread to everyone I don't know how accurate it is but it helped me tremendously and quickly!!!

Plus, none of those stickys helped me ID my Neomeris annulata.
