The Best Ballasts!

What are the absolute best ballasts to run HQI bulbs...specifically Phoenix 14k's? Or any other HQI bulbs too!!!

I am looking for the most energy efficient also.

A PFO M80 is has the most output usually, Blueline is the most efficient.

Anyone else have experience with these bulbs and what ballasts are the best to get?

 

I have done way more reading than I like on this lately. From everything I read, nothing runs the bulbs like an old school magnetic. Next best would be PFO... they overdrive. Then sunlight supply or lumatek. I would not run any of the other options.

As for power consumption, PFO is the worst...the whole overdrive thing. As for the others, they are all pretty much the same.

I have a Current 72'' Light with 3 HQI MH Phoenix 14k's in there now. I am using the stock ballasts that came with the unit...not sure the brand, they dont have any writing on them.

I was thinking of swapping them with 3 new ballasts if its worth it or not.

Not sure.
