    Hey everybody,

This is boywithafishtank, and today i wanted to talk about a special topic, that i think could be cool to discuss and talk about. So, lets get over it already. I wanna know what best moment you've had in this hobby? There is always something that we get proud of, or something we get really happy or excited about. What's mine you ask? Well...

I think my best moment in this hobby, was very recently. Actually, it was only about 3 months ago. Back then i got my Bicolor Dottyback, which is one of my favorite fish. All of the fish that i got before this dottyback all died by Brooklynella. I was very unlucky, to get some parasites with me, from a store, that had some REALLY bad delivery on fish. Actually, before i got fish from that store, i had this really awesome Clarkii Clownfish, that had some symbiosis going with my Malu Sebae Anemone. This Clarkii was healthy and happy, and he ate well, but he was little shy though. Anyway, 3 weeks after i had this Clarkii, i got a Bicolor Angelfish. This guy was not very big, and he looked very healthy when i got him. I acclimated him to my system, and 3 days after that, he had white spots and died, and after that my Clarkii died. I then got 2 Ocellaris Clownfish, but because i didn't wait enough between the parasite outbreak and the new additions, they also got Brooklynella and died. At this moment, i wanted to get out of this hobby, RIGHT AWAY. Although, my dad kept me in the hobby. Actually my dad has helped me alot. Many times, i run into issues with not having enough money for something i really want, like a coral. He often just say "Dont worry, i'll pay for you. I love that tank too, so why not invest a little bit". Because at the time where all of these fish died, i nearly ran out of money, and i couldn't really afford, to stock my tank with corals or fish. But my dad helped me. He got me into this hobby again. He has helped me through all of this mess. He still helps me with all of my tanks today. It seems like he keeps them, as it were his own. He had aquariums at my age, but kinda got out of it again. However, now he likes aquariums again. Maybe he should get a gigantic saltwater reef sometime. Actually, he has mentioned many times that he wants a big reef tank lately. My dad helped me get rid of the parasites aswell. When my mom and dad had their 25th year marriage annivesary (I think thats what its called in english), they took a trip to Germany for a week. When they were on their way home, they stopped by a local fish store, and they bought reef safe medication, since its illegal to sell medication for home aquaria here in Denmark. So, my dad called me and said "Hey, i just got some reef safe medication, and we can kill some of the parasites when we get home". At this point, i knew there was gonna be hope. So, after my dad got home, we put in the medication, and waited for a month, to make sure that ALL of the parasites and parasite spores were dead. But then, as i said, i didn't have enough money, to afford any new fish. But he said "Lets go out to the LFS this week, i can buy you a new fish". And we took down to the LFS, who has kept this dottyback for 3 weeks, without having any problems. My dad invested about $45 for this fish, and we got it home, and we used my new acclimation method. And then, everything went well from there. So, my best moment is when i got my dottyback, simply because it reminds me of how helpful my dad really is. He always helps me with my tanks, and i appreciate it so much. Actually, i'll go tell him now. I don't know where i would've been in this hobby without my dad. In fact, i dont even know if i still would be here in this hobby without him.

Awesome experience, and I am sure your dad will continue to care as much.

My best moment as of right now, is the day I filled my tanks with water. I knew I was finally on my way to a beautiful reef tank.

Yeah, i'm really happy i got my dad with me in this hobby, since he is the only one who really cares about this hobby in my family.

Adding water to a reef tank, and setting it up for the first time is always an awesome experience, and i still remember setting up my first freshwater tank for 6 years ago. Its awesome :)

My dad indeed is a great guy :) Yeah, me too. I love having an aquarium that i can watch all day long. A saltwater aquarium, is just so unique and i can literally watch it for hours on end! :D
