In today's fishy news, an Arizona spa got threatened with a lawsuit for offering an unusual pedicure called 'doctor fish.' This treatment involves sticking your foot into a tank with hundreds of live Garra Ruffa fish that love munching on our dead flesh. Sounds pretty kinky. The state Board of Cosmetology claimed that this violated sanitary codes about cleaning equipment after use. Rather than face mitigation and risk getting their license revoked, the spa has retired the fish to the back room.

If you are willing to put your foot in a tank with fish that are going to eat the dead skin off your feet are you really worried about "sanitery codes"?

I hate how the government has to get involved with everything. How the heck are you going to clean a fish.

What's wrong with nature doing its thing? How about having patrons sign a dang waiver saying you accept all consequences involved with having a fish eat your skin off. The fish get a meal, you get clean feet. Sounds acceptable to me.

I saw something like this on animal plant's "Most Extreme" yesterday. It was a hot spring (somewhere..) with a bunch of little fish that could survive in the hot water and people sit in it like a hot tub and the fish literally attack their entire body..seemed a little bizarre
