Pests are really not an issue as I have had my run-ins with them before and am verry cautious now.
But fish list is probably some type of tang for coral food, a mystery wrasse, and I'll prolly toss in 5 or 6 photon clowns.

There's too many posts on this thread for me to clean it up in the time I have.

I would just like to remind all 3Reefers of something my mom (and probably most other 3Reefer's mom's once said to them when they were kids).......

If you you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

Fear of what more experienced members might say is what makes so many new members afraid to post. That is not our goal at all. Our goal is the sharing of ideas. Sometimes more experienced members might say, "Having 6 damsels in a 2 week old 10 gallon is not a good idea and here's why". Often, it's the tone and the motivation that can turn a negative comment into a positive one.

    Just a friendly reminder.

How about a few more details...

Is this connected to your other system through the sump?
    Total water volume?
Any other build details/specifics you want to share for others that might want to do something similar?

And most importantly, when are you going to start fragging the future colonies and selling at massive discounts to your 3reef buddies? ;D But seriously, is there the intention of going semi-business here?

Yes, all connected. The DT is 90g, the lagoon is 50g and the sump holds about 20g at all times. So I guess like 150-160 minus rock displacement.
The rubbermaid is pretty durable and actually works just about perfectly for what I wanted out of this. Dimensions are 52"x31"x12". My only complaint is that I cannot put a vortech at certain places due to the curved walls.

Haha I have quite the waiting list locally! I think it is because I don't charge the outrageous prices that most people do. I'm usually at $20-40, but the occasional very high end chalices I do for 50-70$
But if you guys are willing to pay the arm and a leg for shipping I sure can offer to our community.

Cool now you got me thinking... I have a koi pond and always told the kids that when they go to college I am going to make the pool the new koi pond but geeze I could just turn it into a 10,000 gallon salt water coral tank(shhhh don't tell the wife)..

that is very nice! I like it a lot. Great way to 1. add more water volume to your system, 2. great way for grow out tank.

With the increase water volume, how are you going to dose? Are you going to go pumps or manual dose? Curious because the amount of SPS and LPS you are going to have a lot of ca, kh and mg to dose!

I would definately put some fish in the rubbermade, as it will help feed your corals

One question, do you have some type of valve to cut off flow from the black tank to your main tank, just in case something were to happen in one of the tanks you could switch over?

I am a fan of 2 part, but with this large of a tank though it will be hard once it all grows in. I have a GEO reactor sitting here waiting until it is time but I am in no hurry to stray from my good old reliable Randy's recipe ;)

When I was plumbing I bought a valve but decided not to plumb it in... lol I realized that i could just turn the return elbow vertical and it works just as good, if not better than a valve. I guess that is not as "professional" as a valve but i see no difference when it does the same job, just with less parts.

Uploading some more pics and macros in a few minutes here :)
