    It can take a while for coralline to show up so be patient. I had an established tank and it took a good four months before the purple started showing up and then it was slow. That purple up stuff isn't really good to be adding (not really sure what's in it besides calcium) - I used to add it myself to my FO and then my calcium got really high and it didn't give me coralline.

    In terms of lighting I don't think I can be much help. I think you were looking at LED's if I remember correctly and I'm not real knowledgeable about them.

    out of all the tanks i had i could never get coralline to grow, the only way for me to get it in my tank was to buy a piece of live rock with alot on it and introduce it to my tank.

    thank you very much sir will keep an eye on the calcium levels for the LEDs i finally gave up the idea of DIY and going for 2 more kessils

    thanks :) my LR is pretty small soo ll have to search a hobbyist who have a good LR full of coralline in his running tank...

    yeah just get a good sized rock nice and covered with it, smash it up into some fairly sized bits and spread them over your rockwork. you should have some sweet coralline action in no time.

    chelseagrin its really difficult to get a good rock covered with coralline... but will try my best and keep updated :)
