    Do fish pair up with different species? I mean, I know they won't mate or anything, but my clown and my sixline kind of act like a mated pair.

    So, the first time I noticed this was about 2 weeks ago. Didn't think much of it then, but now they are pretty much inseparatable. The sixline which swims a lot faster than the clown has pretty much slowed down in order stay next to the clown wherever he/she goes all day long. At night the sixline goes into a cave in the rockwork and the clown just hovers in front of it all night (from what I can tell). They use to ignore each, but over the last week these two have gotten tight. Kind cool

    It's not unheard of for fish to become "friends," but I haven't heard of a sixline and a clown becoming friends. Sounds pretty cool.

    That's so wrong!!!::)
    Actually, my maroon clown and my lemon peel angel are quite close. It's the only fish the maroon will let into the cave. But then again, my English Springer has a thing for beagles, so there's no accounting for taste!

    My yellow tang and first red coris wrasse were like that. They would hang out. Both are dead now. Bummer. Kind of a cool couple they made.
