We have a wood stove for the house, the big power hogs are mostly taken care of. Our power company chopped down a ton of trees after the last storm, 2 weeks is a stretch, but the cars/truck are gassed, and can be siphoned

That's good but, always have more than you need. "It's better to have and not want than to want and not have" Also invest in some canned foods.

Another thing, I will get a propane generator one of these days, then I can do a few weeks no prob. For now, just powering the tanks and fridge is enough. I can get it to 80 degrees with the stove, and have 3 months of wood on the deck right outside. Everything is tied down outside, looks like I will be riding the storm on the way back from CMAC on Sunday.

Sounds like you have it under control. Did you board your windows?

No, that is way overkill. I have had one broken window in ten years, and that was a swing hammock the shouldnt have been left out. The house is far from falling trees, and all outdoor furniture is in the garage, or staked to the ground.

....If it hits as a high One you may want them boarded.

I've learned with tanks and with life in general that you should always be prepared for the worst. I hope everything turns out alright :)

What you should do is go stand on the shore in the nude with no worries when it's about to hit landfall. That's just my opinion.

lol that's hilarious, I've heard of people doing stuff like that during a storm. Have to be serious but, sometimes you have to make light of things. A good way to pass a lot of time is a good game of Risk

    good luck east coast.

like Ron White says, “It isn’t that the wind is blowing, it’s what the wind is blowing. If you get hit with a Volvo, it doesn’t matter how many pushups you did that morning.”

but yeah, I can't keep my 90g tank alive, a deep freezer and a fridge cold, and run a few fans and my macbook running for under a gallon a day with a honda 2000W generator, and its quite as heck. I only run the freezer for an hour or 2 twice a day and the fridge about an hour every 4-6 hours.
