Wow he is so amazing. I was looking at him too for my baby pred tank. Congrats on him and can't wait to see pics of him growing up. He went to an amazing home.

Well I did have bad luck with my 1st attempt at the Juvie Aussie. He was pretty small, prob 2.5" with tail. I had him for about 3 weeks and then I found him perished on the sand one day. No visible signs of disease, no signs of being attacked. He was acting fine the days leading up to his death. I am still stumped but I'm thinking it was cyanide poisining.

My new Aussie has been doing great, seems he is past the point of worry about cyanide harvesting methods.

The only problem with suspecting cyanide poison with an Aussie is that cyanide collection is really not a problem in Australia. It's more of a issue in the Philippines and Indonesia. Now an Indo tusk, I would suspect cyanide with them if they suddenly dropped dead.

I have cared for an adult for a few years. Literally would eat anything you put in the tank. I know it was quite a hardy fish and very personable.
Unfortunately it was sucked into an iwaki pump intake one day while we were cleaning the strainer :(

Good to know, there's a slight possiblity I had an Indo but my LFS is pretty good about not confusing them as I specifically asked for an Aussie. I'll never truly know what happened.

My new one is def an Aussie though :)

They are certainly not a fish that starts off striking and ends up dull. He's flipped the other way.

I'm going to drag some of the big lights up there tonight to see if I can get a decent pic. I think he's ready for the spotlight!

How fast will he grow? Right now he's in a 24-28g nanocube (I forget which it is). He looks like he's in a huge ocean right now, but I'm feeding him well. Last night he ate salmon shavings and I'm buying from fresh urchin roe this weekend.
