Well, last night i went out and got back home like 2am. I came in my room and turned on my lights to change and when i glanced at the tank i saw my my false perc swimming in a daze. she was in shock apparently from the 'lights on' and was swimming seemingly drunk hitting the rocks as she went by. she then swam right into my carpet anenome!!!....to my suprise and horror the carpet anenome grabbed her and stuck on to her. I tried everything to save her but it was in vain. I tell you i almost cried.

Anyways i got up this morning and i saw the false perc swimming around with severe bruises all over the body. Im in the process of taking the carpet anenome out and returning him to the LFS.

Has anyone ever heard of a 'stung' clown fish???....

    what should i do?

    Regards

Carpets are pretty agressive anemonies. I've seen them eat newly introduced clowns when I worked at a LFS.

    yes troy the great
many clowns are placed in tanks with nems that they may not host in nature
the clowns can adapt, but they get stung
under normal circumstances, the clown would brush up against the nem, a little each day and build up its immunity to the sting

in your case where the clown has darted into the nem due to the light shock, it has been expossed to more than it would have allowed itself to be

if its swimming and eating OK and just looks a little bit the worse for wear, there is every chance it will make it

its possible I have seen common clowns ( Im still never 100% confident on wethere they where true or false percs) hosting in carpet nem species in LFS out here.

It probably regards the anemone as something to avoid. I would use some Stress-Zyme or other appropriate slime coat product to help him (the clown) heal.
