    yes, i have read about their feeding difficulties. i will try to train it while it is in the smaller quarantine tank. i like the fuzzy dwarf myself, but if i get that, will it get big enough to eat any of my chosen fish? or will it be safe? also, because the dwarf fuzzy get a bit bigger than the fu manchu, will it be too much for my system with all the other fish? will i have to cut any of them out? i hope not, but let me know what ya think. :)

    You can never say never. A Fu Manchu would be the safest bet. It's amazing what a Lion can get in its mouth with the powerful and speedy suction. Generally, your fish should be OK with any of the Dwarfs.

    Be prepared to keep the Lion in the Q-tank awhile if it won't eat any of the frozen krill/shrimp at the LFS.

    should i just starve it out until it eats frozen? the only things i am worried about is the marroon clown and the flame angel, and the singapore when its young. you think they'll be ok though? also, will my cleaners be safe? as long as he grows up with them?

    Lions aren't known for eating things with a shell.  You shouldn't fret so much, just kidding.  My Lion never bothered any of the other SW fish we had in the tank.  In general they ill eat if hungry enough, that is why it is such a bonus if it will eat at the LFS.  Avoids lots of hassles.

    [glow=Red, 3, 900]Hey Roger,

    Even though you are getting a full-size angel (the Singapore) and a pygmy angel (the Flame), you are probably going to have problems with those two. They are "conspecifics," meaning that they are very much like each other in many ways. In this case, size doesn't matter.
    [/glow] ;D

    [glow=Blue, 3, 900]Why don't you just go ahead with the plan to get the Singapore Angel and introduce him about the same time as the Purple Tang, and let things ride for a while. If you really think that your tank can handle the Flame angel after a couple of months, we can talk about it then. [smiley=thumbs_up1.gif]

    I just don't want you to wind up with one or two dead fish on your hands, and you could with the "Flame Angel" list.

    that sound good. i was gonna add the tang and angel at about the 6 month mark, and then i wouldn't mind waiting a few months before getting the flame angel. trust me, i dont wanna end up with a dead fish either. ;-) and i am trying to learn to relax craig. ;-)

    well, i made a beginner mistake. please don't beat me!!! ;-) i bought a hawaiian feather duster for my tank without considering the compatibility of my fish. i read that the flame angel i want will pick at the duster until it dies. so, wrassman, problem solved!! no flame angel. any ideas on something i could choose to take its place on "The List?" :) i was thinking maybe a small butterfly? i have one more slot open for a small fish in my list now, so what do you all think? the duster is doing great by the way! open, and looking beautiful!

    [glow=Green, 3, 900]Hey Roger,

    I thought we already cut the Flame Angel yesterday? Remember, I told you that the Singapore and the Flame were not going to be good tank-mates? In fact, they would most likely fight constantly, until you removed one, or one was dead.
    [/glow] [smiley=skull.gif]

    [glow=LimeGreen, 3, 900]You are adding the tang and the angel 6 months from now, together, right? And, the "new fish" you want to get goes in after that pair, right? Why don't you take your time in choosing this fish?

    Patience, Roger, is one of the keys to being a good aquarist. So, why don't you think about the types of fish you like (taking into consideration the feather duster's well-being), the size of fish you want, the temperment of fish you would consider, and just take your time in choosing your next fish?
    [/glow] [smiley=stop.gif]

    [glow=Green, 3, 900]There are a LOT of fish to choose from, Roger. If you hurry your decision, you may miss that "ONE" fish that just knocks your socks off.

    Please, slow down...
