well ive been looking around for led's i don't want anything fancy (trying to stay in a budget set by my wife grrrr) but the only ones i can really find that stayed in my budget where the TaoTronics. ive read the reviews. heard they are noisey but that dont bother me it going to be in my computer room anyways, i will get the dimmable ones which i will see if i can retrofit to work with a reefangel
now i read that ppl had a rust issue with this i wana hear from anyone who has used them.
if there are any better solution im open for suggestion
my tank im build is a 40g breeder i want to put mainly zoan, mushrooms polyps. i wana try to put a yellow tang, 2 snowflake clowns, at 1 type of a wasse, and maybe a pair of anthias
any and all led suggestion would be nice and the budget set for this part is 150-250

Oh, and sorry but your stocking wish list is a nightmare waiting to happen. Sorry but that will only cause ya problems, a yellow tang and anthias are not gonna be a good idea.

so how about 10x CREE XT-E Royal Blue LED
    6x CREE XP-G R5 5W Cool White LED
    4x CREE XP-E Amber LED
2x Violet UV LED with 80° degree Lens
2x CREE XP-E Green 3W LED with 80° degree Lens

puts the 10 blue on a dimm driver
the 4 whits 2 UV and 2 greens and 2 ambers on another dimm driver
put the other 2 white and red on a non dim driver
    you think that would work?
or should i make it all 6 whites on the dim drive and put 2 amber with the 2 uv on non dimm

for fans i have crap loads of computers fans i can rig up onto the top to move the air away thats all they are really selling
as for wire ill just take that from my dads shop out at the hanger he has more than enough since he works on planes.
use the Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive to glue them on the 6x20 heat sink.
    thats all i need right?

HMMM, I'd personally tweak it a bit
    7 RBs 3 blues
    4 CWS, 2 NWs
    3 amber 1 red
    2 violet(not UV BTW)
    2 green/cyan
things change fast but basically mix up the whites and blues a bit, IMO

But you're gonna have to watch the driver issue. This is where a mix of rapid and aquastyle comes into play and saves some money. Get the whites(better brighter Crees from rapid) then get the rest of the colors from aquastyle or somewhere else, bridgelux) The nice thing about them is they all run on the same max current so they are easier to wire and you can get multiple colors per a driver.;)

No worries bud. As for LEDs, it tough because you got to make sure to dont put too much just through certain colors. I would always run violets at 100% if it were me.
