The Lighter Side of Reef Keeping...

This is always a depressing time of year for me. In 2004 my 19 yr old cousin was killed in Iraq. Less than 2 weeks later my father had a siezure in HomeDepot which led to a diagnosis of cancer of the brain which in turn led to his passing a short while later.
So in an attempt to cheer myself up I'm hoping to draw some good funny moments out you all with this thread.

I'll start it off...
My most embarassing moment and possibly the moment my wife decided I had crossed that imaginary line into obsession is most definately the night she discovered me in the kitchen checking my brineshrimp for hatch with a flashlight. So what? you say...well it was 3:30 a.m. and I was in my birthday suit. Nature call woke me up and on the return trip to bed I thought to myself "wonder if my shrimp hatched" so I grabbed a glass, got a turkey baster squirt full and my flash light and checked em out...;D

 

why exactly were you in youre birthday suit? you know what dont answer that. i cant think of one right now but ill keep trying.

A funny moment (at first) was feeling my duncan cyclop-eeze for the first time and the shrimp literally punching it right in the mouth to steal the food....I mean pinchers in the corals mouth. Knuckle deep if you will, LOL.

 

Keep your Head up reef monkey. My father past in 2004 and it was also hard for me. Dont dwell on there deaths, dwell on the funny times you had with them, they way you do with these funny reef memories.

I can relate to you. my girlfriend found my obession out when she told me to pay the gas bill before it got shut off. I chose instead to go use the last of my money to buy $100 worth of equipment at the LPS. Needless to say, she wasnt to happy when she had to stop the guy in our yard before he shut it off. At first she liked the idea, now she thinks it was the biggest mistake we ever made!!! Well excuse me while I go boil some water to take a bath with!! lol

I thought it was a great pic! it took me about 20 minutes to find the pic haha. I knew it was in my pictures but I lost that fish a year ago. Must have shocked him to bad.

haha that picture great. I don't have too may funny memories that involve reefkeeping.. One I guess would be when my girlfriend came up for the weekend. We were sleeping on a Saturday morning when my tank lights came on right next to my bed. I wake up to find her half asleep RIPPING cords out of the power strips trying to get the lights off. She had no recollection of it when we finally woke up
