Saw something that made me laugh and thankfully I had my camera handy.

My conchs were all busily vaccuuming the rocks as usual this evening along with anything else that got in their way. These conchs that i got recently like to CLIMB stuff, I saw one about 5" up the glass yesterday but the camera wasn't nearby. Earlier today one managed to climb to the top of the rocks.

One shot I included here is of two of the conchs - the larger one was starting to climb the rock, but the little one just couldn't reach high enough.

Considering how conchs use that one foot to shuffle along and move,
that really impressed me. It isn't a slow and smooth movement like a regular snail would travel around on stuff.

Another of the conchs decided to vaccuum the clam shell this evening. It literally pulled itself up as if on tiptoes to reach the clamshell. All was going along just fine until the clam decided to snap shut - it startled the conch enough that the conch pulled itself into a full upright position. All I could do was laugh.

I wish I could have filmed it as a movie but thankfully I snapped a shot just as it reared up on the end of its shell.

I am also posting a couple of other random shots I got. I actually caught Tonka, my pistol shrimp in the midst of his latest dig. As always, Mrgl the goby swims at attention, ready to risk life and fin for Tonka.

now the lights are out and the whole crew has settled in for the night.

    enjoy :)

if you mean frags etc, so far so good. My big snails are the worst offenders. Even if i had some cleanup to do, it is worth it....these little guys are very entertaining and believe me, they do a fabulous cleaning job.

Yeah, mine definitely have stuff to eat in my tank :) Someday it will be pristine!
In the meantime you can laugh at my herd of silly inverts, while I drool over your tangs and sun corals and other assorted yummies.

    everyone wins!

I had a HUGE queen conch that would climb the glass all the time. That little body would stretch and stretch, it was hilarious
